Dominican church St. James the Apostle, also containing the remains of the monastery, has been around for over 800 years. It is the oldest of the preserved Sandomierz churches. The hill on which it is erected is called Swiętojakubski or Staromiejskie and has been intensively inhabited for centuries. Currently, the temple belongs to the Roman Catholic parish of Conversion of St. Paweł and can be proud of the status of the rector's church. The church building impresses with its original architecture. Is an example of Romanesque - Gothic art. The building is built on the plan of a three-nave basilica, without a transept, with an elongated presbytery. The stained glass windows are characteristic, as one of the newest elements of the interior created at the beginning of the 20th century, they blend in with the severity of the brick walls. The 17th-century Chapel of St. Jacek, the side chapel of the Dominican Martyrs, the Altar of St. Zyta.
