It is considered one of the most beautiful Polish caves, and crowds of tourists visiting it every year are the best proof of the good reputation of this object. Raj Cave located in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains in the slopes of the Malik hill is one of the biggest tourist attractions in Poland. Those who had the pleasure of visiting this place will remember such a trip for a long time. The corridors are 240 meters long, but the tourist route is slightly shorter. To visit the cave, you must walk 180 meters, which takes about 45 minutes. She is visited in the company of a local guide who has a great knowledge of this amazing attraction of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains. The cave has a long history. It started forming around 360 million years ago. At that time, the Świętokrzyskie Mountains were covered with a fairly warm sea, in which the coral reef was developing. Over time, sea sediments evolved into limestone rocks in which Raj Cave was built. In ancient times, the cave was visited by animals like bears and cave hyenas. There were also mammoths, bisons and reindeers. A man also visited here, and after the Neanderthal a lot of interesting souvenirs were found inside the cave. The cave itself, at least "officially" was discovered quite late. In 1963, an entrance slot was discovered, but it is known that the cave was already known to local farmers. It was not until the 1960s that the place became interested in this place from a scientific point of view. The necessary documentation was made, tests were carried out. Solutions were also introduced to allow tourists to visit the cave. They could visit it for the first time in 1972. They were delighted with her beauty. The cave itself is today not only a huge tourist attraction, but also a natural monument and an important archaeological site. Although the most valuable parts of the cave are excluded from tourist traffic, what you can see on the tourist route is beautiful enough. You can see here underground lakes and necrotic bowls with cave pearls. The great attraction are coral fossils that can be seen in the walls of the cave. Beautiful stalactite columns delight with their shapes, while the "Pagoda" is considered the most beautiful, resembling a Japanese temple in its shape. A big attraction is also the exhibition located in the entrance pavilion. You can learn about karst phenomena and see flint tools discovered in the cave silt.
