Address: ul. Sobka 15 , Sobków

The castle in Sobków rose from the ruins - the spirit of Josaphat Szaniawski was at large in Świętokrzyskie. The castle in Sobków is a surprise from start to finish; from the top of the corner tower to the corner of the majestic knight's hall. The presence of a massive fortalice in this idyllic landscape is a surprise, like the arrival of the Spanish Inquisition. Castle history: The castle, or rather a fortified manor house (fortalice) located on the banks of the Nida River in Sobków was erected in the years 1560-1570 on the order of Stanisław Sobek from Sulejów, who was the castellan of Bielec, staroste of Lesser Poland and the Grand Crown Treasurer. The estate was originally closed from four sides by a defensive wall, and at the corners there were towers. The castle in Sobków was often destroyed, but three towers covered with wooden roofs and a large fragment of the walls have survived to this day. The castle burned down, among others, during the First World War, after the Second World War, the state-owned farm was completed by the state farm, which took over the buildings. The building was partially reconstructed and owes its present appearance to the current owners who purchased it in 1997. In the courtyard there are ruins of a classical palace built around 1770 by later owners of the fortifications - Szaniawski. The palace was facing the river, today we can admire, among others, four Ionic columns. There is a beautiful garden between the river and the palace ruins. Attractions offered by the Castle in Sobków One of the attractions is the possibility of taking a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh (in winter) pulled by horses, the object also offers the possibility of horse riding. The facility makes great use of its location, offering visitors water attractions. After the beautiful and picturesque Nida, you can take a boat ride or take a canoeing trip (the offer includes 3, 5 and 6 hour rafting). In the castle's courtyard there are birds of prey, which are fed and released every day at 13:30. It is worth around this hour to visit the Castle in Sobków to be able to see the magnificent buzzard or European eagle owl. In addition, you can also see other animals such as the castle peacock, horses or goats. There are also guest rooms within the castle walls. (Guest rooms and restaurant Pod Zakutym Łbem). The castle in Sobków is definitely an interesting place. It is worth going here especially to spend time actively riding a horse or enjoying the charms of the beautiful Nida River. In the meantime, you can walk around the large courtyard while admiring the castle animals - birds of prey, swans or peacocks. It is also worth visiting the castle restaurant, which will help us feel the medieval atmosphere even more. Source: roadtripbus.pl/zamek-rycerski-w-sobkowie
